About Us

Aggie Fish Club is a service/social organization dedicated to the involvement of Freshmen leaders at Texas A&M. Throughout weekly meetings, influential speakers, committee projects, Buddy Huddle activities, and leadership retreats, the freshmen are provided with countless opportunities to grow as individuals, but most importantly as a team. AFC serves as a supportive community to the freshmen and encourages development through positive reinforcement, mentors, and everlasting friendships. Furthermore, AFC strives to focus on the importance of the history and traditions of our campus, while giving the freshmen a chance to experience the never-dying Aggie Spirit.

Informationals

Aggie Fish Club informationals will be hosted and coordinated by FLAC in person on Texas A&M Campus. The first one is Wednesday, August 23rd at 8pm in ILCB 113, and the second one is Friday, September 1st at 5pm in ILCB 113. These meetings are not mandatory but can give you an inside look at what AFC is all about, a chance to meet our staff, and the opportunity to get your questions answered!

Applications and Interviews

➢ Applications are due by Sunday, September 10th by 11:59pm. No applications will be accepted after 11:59pm on Sunday, September 10th. 
➢ Applications will be used to determine who will receive an interview. Due to the number of applicants, Aggie Fish Club is forced to cut by applications, so make every effort to do your best. You will be informed by email on Thursday, September 15th, if you were selected for an interview. You will be emailed to sign up for an interview slot the sign up for which will take place electronically. Please ensure to fill out the interview time slots as soon as possible to coordinate with your schedule! After interviews have been completed, you will be notified by email once again on Monday, September 26th if you were selected for a FLO. 

Requirements and Dues

➢ Mandatory events include weekly general meetings (every Wednesday from 7:00-8:10 PM) and weekly committee meetings. We also require community service and study hours, both provided by AFC. 
➢ Dues are $100.00 per semester and will be used for retreats, shirts, banquets, and other miscellaneous expenses. There is a payment plan available. 
➢ To remain a member of Aggie Fish Club, you must maintain a 2.0 GPA for the fall semester. In addition, you will be required to release your grades to the AFC Advisors and directors.
